BOOK RELEASED: “Natural Transitioning: an FTM alternative”
Since 2008, a growing number of FTMs have stumbled upon an alternative founded by Tristan & Sicily Skye. This alternative plan allows transmen to naturally increase the testosterone their bodies already are producing with a 3-step plan including:
1. Supplements
2. Diet
3. Weight Training
Natural Transitioning has helped out many guys who are waiting to start Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), who are unable to do HRT, or who want an alternative option to HRT.
The book emphasizes the need to seek a physicians care the same as anyone doing the HRT method.
The book is released today via Lulu.com. You can purchase a paperback copy or an online edition.
(Yeahhhhhhhhh)
Ju.
I do a lot of research, I read a lot, I am sure there are many more ways to raise testosterone levels naturally than they say.. So before rushing to a synthetic testosterone which scares me, I prefer trying other resources.
In fact, I found a few. Note that I have not enough experience to deliver results for all, I am right now testing them.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a technique of stimulation by the heat of acupuncture points. Moxa is the object that allows the heating stimulation.
There is a point on the left ankle, which heated regularly, increases muscle mass by allowing the body to produce testosterone. This is on the left ankle behind the medial malleolus, midway between it and the Achilles tendon.
My physiotherapist told me to heat it, about a minute a day, every day. I am trying to do, I’ll post my impressions.
Chinese herbs.
The site “transguys” talks about them : http://transguys.com/shop/chinese-herbs, I asked my phytotérapeute, he advised me to take He shou wu, what I do. For that too, I’ll post my impressions later.
The famous tribulus
1000 mg per day, I saw a very clear difference, it is clear, it works. Obviously it works much slower than an injection, but in the long run I think I can achieve pretty good results.
If you take tribulus, associate your taken with a a mixture of zinc / magnesium, it will amplify the effect of tribulus and take it in the evening before bedtime, because testosterone production is at it’s highest point at night
Sincerely,
Ju.

Dear Dr. T,
I have a question for you if you don’t mind. I am a 31 year old FTM. I have never taken T and I don’t want to, I just do a lot of working out and I take herbs to naturally level up my testosterone level. I have heard about “DHT CREAM” to accelerate genital growth. Does it work if you are not on T?
Thank you very much for your help,
Pecker
Dear P,
Glad to hear you are taking care of your body with regular exercise. More of us should be following your lead!
The short answer to your question is ‘yes,’ DHT cream can have an effect on your genital growth regardless of whether you are on testosterone or not. The long answer is a little more complicated, and here’s why. Testosterone and DHT are both sex steroids called androgens. A small percentage of testosterone in the body is actually converted into DHT which acts on the same receptors as testosterone with greater affinity. In a fetus, DHT’s major function is in creation of the external genitalia. In pubescence and adulthood, its major effects are on the prostate and hair follicles (i.e. body hair, pubic hair, and male-pattern baldness).
Growth spurt, if you please
By using DHT on your genitals, there is the likelihood that it will cause some genital growth. Keep in mind that steroid creams exhibit their effects on local tissues but also get absorbed through the skin entering into the bloodstream. The absorption of DHT into the bloodstream allows it to act on testosterone receptors throughout the body, perhaps causing other changes that you might not want, such as voice changes, hair changes, etc. The genitals have a small surface area for less absorption, however, it is very vascular and so it is difficult to estimate what proportion of the cream will actually get absorbed into the bloodstream to exert its effects more systemically. So if you don’t want to take synthetic testosterone I would recommend staying away from the DHT cream.
I’m a western medicine physician who believes in and endorses alternative medicine, so I’m all about your use of herbs and natural supplements. Please be aware though that just because the substances you are putting into your body are labeled ‘natural,’ doesn’t mean they are immune to side effects and adverse events. Research and educate yourself about the herbs and supplements you are putting into your body. Additionally, research the company making your herbs and supplements because they use different ingredients, preservatives, percentages, etc for the same products. Because there is little to no FDA oversight of herbs and supplements, there is no consistency within the same products made by different companies. Also, since you are taking herbs and supplements that act as more ‘natural’ testosterone, chances are they will have similar side effects and risks as synthetic, pharmaceutically created testosterone, but with less predictability as you don’t actually know the amount of testosterone going into your body. Be sure to follow with a physician who can check labs to make sure your liver and kidney function are okay, your testosterone level isn’t too high, and to get your general health maintenance evaluation.
Keep those questions coming!
Dr. T
